The GRE measures the overall academic ability and is a standardized exam for all business schools. However, not all graduate schools require GRE scores. There are two formats: GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test.

GRE Syllabus

The General Test evaluates the verbal reasoning and critical thinking whereas, the Subject Test is focused on the measuring the applicants’ expertise in the specific field.

General Test includes verbal reasoning, which measures the candidate’s ability to analyze, identify, understand and summarize the questions. The quantitative reasoning evaluates how well the candidate can analyze, understand and interpret the quantitative concepts. Analytical writing measures the ability of the candidate’s critical thinking.

Subject Test is based on specialized subjects like biochemistry, biology, chemistry, literature, mathematics, physics and psychology.

GRE Eligibility

The candidate should be at least 18 years of age to give this exam. However, there is no restriction on the age limit and academic qualification. This exam is taken for getting admission in graduate, post-graduate or post-doctorate programs.

MBA Entrance Exams

Today, MBA is the most prestigious and lucrative degree being offered in India. Admission to the course is carried out by various Entrance Exams being held by different colleges. These exams are structured so as to access the ability of the candidates. MBA entrance preparation increases the chances of the candidates to get through to the top B-Schools.

  2. XAT: National level aptitude test conducted by XLR for admission into XRI Jamshedpur, XIM Bhubaneshwar, S. P. Jain, GIM etc.
  3. SNAP:Annual management entrance for admission to MBA programs in the Institutes affiliated with Symbiosis University
  4. MH-CET: Entrance test for admission into MBA program of colleges in Maharashtra
  5. CMAT:Online computer-based test conducted by AICTE for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE
  6. IBSAT: National level post graduate MBA entrance examination for admissions into MBA programmes offered by the various campuses of IBS Business School and ICFAI University
  7. NMAT:Entrance exam for admission to all the MBA Full Time courses of NMIMS Mumbai and the PGDM courses of NMIMS Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
  8. MICA: Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad
  9. IIFT: Admission test is a written exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade for their New Delhi and Kolkata campus.
